This month, we're spotlighting Lionheart, a women-owned planning, urban design, and landscape architecture firm based at Springdale General.
With offices in Austin and Colorado, Lionheart creates places where people, communities, and nature can thrive together, through parks, trails, streetscapes, ecological restoration, or large-scale community planning.
Founded in 2011, Lionheart brings together planners and landscape architects who believe that great places are built through collaboration, creativity, and a deep understanding of community needs. In 2025, the firm expanded its reach by bringing together Lionheart, Studio Balcones, and Connect One Design under a single banner, strengthening its ability to shape projects across Texas, Colorado, and beyond.

Guided by the motto "courage to create," Lionheart approaches each project with a commitment to sustainability, resilience, and long-term community well-being. Their work has earned recognition from organizations including the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the American Planning Association (APA), and the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).

From public parks and trails to ecological restoration and historic preservation, Lionheart's projects reflect a belief that thoughtful design can improve everyday life while strengthening connections between people and place.
Recently, Lionheart received an award for one of their Colorado projects, a reflection of the firm's growing impact across the region. You can learn more about their work and follow along with current projects on Instagram at @lionheart_places.
